Chiara Ferragni | The Blonde Salad | Valentino Rockstud PVC Thong Sandals

During the summer season, flip-flops aren’t usually my type of go-to shoes unless I am going to the beach. However, these Valentino Rockstud PVC Thong Sandals redefine the mundane flip-flop, making them an elegant semi-casual yet semi-formal summer shoe.

And, of course, the stylish fashion blogger and footwear designer, Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad, proves all of the statements above. As she pairs them with various outfits, these Valentinos exhibit their endless potential as a versatile summer sandal.

Splurging $295 on PVC footwear that can only be worn only during one part of the year is quite the extravagant price to pay. Thanks to Steve Madden, the “JIFFY” Studded Jelly Thong Sandals are the perfect budget-friendly alternative to the Valentinos above. Priced at $39.95, they are almost identical to its designer counterpart with only minor differences that are hardly even noticeable.

Sarah Jessica Parker wearing Casadei Crystal Encrusted Ankle Strap Sandals

There’s something about a bedazzled high heel that always gets my attention. Which is probably the desired reaction with sparkling, crystal-adorned footwear. A beautiful paramount example would have to be this beautiful crystal-encrusted ankle strap sandal by Casadei. Imagine how amazing these sparklers would look with your favorite little black dress! Total eye-catchers!

If you want to sparkle on a budget, then Chinese Laundry has got your back. Their “Classy Bidniz” high heels are an almost identical clone of the Casadei originals in a beautiful silvery hue. Now that’s a pretty neat deal, right?

Sole Mate

At times, my never-ending hunt for my sole mates could be declared excessive, and no, I may not always have practicality in mind when I fill my closet with pairs that I “need to have.” But, for a moment, let’s throw away caution — and common sense — to the wind, and just look at this Just Cavalli heels that are too ooh pretty to ignore.

After seasons of sky-high sandals and towering platforms, the sleek and wearable heels are currently hitting a welcome change. Tapered to a stylishly sharp tip, the classic silhouette of pointed-toe pumps fit seamlessly into fall’s feminine fascination.

V’S Dresscode

The ladylike trend is definitely in the atmosphere right now, and pointed-toed shoes are a great way to express it. I love them with cropped pants and skirts.

Alexa Chung – Vintage YSL peasant blouse inspiration

There is one thing for sure that you must know by now:  the 70’s are back in full force.

The reference point for most designers goes back to YSL and what he did in the 1970’s.  From the color palette to his famous Gypsy collection, everyone from Marc Jacobs, Fendi, D&G, Etro and Ferretti are all getting on board for Spring 2011.

One of the standout trends that we have spotted is the Peasant Blouse. Done in many variations, we’ve seen off the shoulder, embroidered and romantic styles.

When it comes to wearing this boho chic staple in a modern way, look no further than Alexa Chung. The trendsetter was spotted in New York earlier this year in a breezy vintage blouse embellished with intricate red needlework. But instead of pairing the top with a flowy maxi skirt and beaded sandals, the trendsetter opted for vintage cutoffs, Topshop’s Crochet Shopper Bag ($76), and edgy Mishka Liliana Sandals ($375) in Black Patent, which restrain the outfit from looking like a total flashback.
