Peplum, exhibition

The two Gallo-Roman museums of the Department of the Rhone are presenting a new original exhibition: Peplum. The peplum provides an entertaining aspect to the exhibition, but is also educational serving to take fresh look at the exhibits and show that film fantasies and science can unite, interact and promote a better understanding of antiquity. The tour of the permanent exhibition has been divided and transformed into “follies” in which visitors can view one or more selected film clips depending on the collection. Archaeological objects, associated with the presentation of film set props, costumes, posters and stills are used to compare the museum collection’s themes and show how the cinema made use of them.
