Woolmark "Fashion by Feelings"

Woolmark is synonymous with great design; their 47 year old logo was, this year, awarded “Top logo of all time” by
Creative Review Magazine, and with this campaign they’re hoping to draw another success in their history…

Here you are a global street style competition: Woolmark’s ‘Find Fashion by Feelings’ lookbook invites you to post your favourite wool looks into one of twelve ‘Feelings’ categories. You are then encouraged to vote for the outfits you love the most, with the most
‘loved’ look winning a AUD $12,000 holiday & wool experience. Additionally the public can vote for their favourite look,
with all voters entered into a weekly draw to win an ‘Emu Australia’ wool prize pack worth AUD $400.

When viewing the site, users are greeted with a myriad of different looks: From ‘Happy’ – an explosion of vibrant colour; to ‘Dark’ – a moodier, deeper, sultry side to all things wool, to all emotions in between.

Woolmark launched the “We Love Wool” Facebook page in early June. In less than 6 weeks since it’s inception, the
community now has 15,000+ fans. The thriving community provides consumers, retailers and designers alike a
touch-point to connect and discuss all things wool!

Post your look and follow this fun campaign that aims to educate people about wool as a natural and renewable fibre!

Jaune Paris

This frock is all scallop and show, with a row of flouncy ruffles descending from the left shoulder across the chest, flutter sleeves, and a cinched waist. Pair it with dark heels and an antique hat for the classic Lulu look, or sweet flats and a silk shawl for a sunny, relaxed look. The light and fabric is the perfect answer to getting dressed up in the summer’s heat, and the length keeps things ladylike when you take a seat on the grass to people watch.

DIY | Coffee table with hidden storage

Have you any old vintage suitcases gathering dust in the back of your closet? then look at this luggage DIY project.

vsct 8

Materials

  • Waddell straight top plate hardware (4)
  • Waddell 4? tapered table legs (4)
  • vintage suitcase
  • spray paint or stain for the legs
  • power drill
  • measuring tape

vsct 2

Instructions

1. Turn the suitcase upside down, measure and mark out the four areas to place the hardware.

2. Get out your power drill and screw in the hardware.

3. Screw in the legs!

Tips

  • If you want to be SUPER green, keep your eyes peeled for a table with similar “screw-in” legs at a thrift shop or yard sale. Give them a little test and try to unscrew all of the legs before you get the table home (sometimes the screws are stripped, and then you’re, well … screwed). You can find the hardware and legs at a DIY store, but they are also available at a range of sites online.
  • This project works best with old suitcases that were constructed out of balsa/masonite or some other sort of thin wood. You want a case with a bit of thickness — something the screws can sink in to.
  • Use cheap black spray paint to go with the black tones in this suitcase; dark wood stains look really nice, as well.

My favorite part? The hidden storage.

Daytime sequins look

how to wear daytime sequins

For a long time, sequins have been thought of as a nighttime embellishment. While their glamorous nature does lend itself perfectly to your night wardrobe, the modern girl knows how to mix things up by wearing sequins during the day. If you’re wondering how to pull off daytime sequins, you’ve come to the right place. The Sartorialist recently spotted this glamorous girl in New York, who shows us how to style the look with ease.

Clearly, the trick to wearing daytime sequins is to keep the rest of your outfit minimalist and toned down. Take a look at our stylish subject: her outfit is comprised of mostly solid, dark colors, save for her coat, which is a dark mustard color. The color of the coat resides within the same area of the color wheel as her gold sequined top, which is why this look works so well.
